oct 2013. Just reached 32,000,000 metres this month 15 years after my first row. I had 6 years off midway through from 2003 to 2008. Starting backat 61 took me nearly a year to recover any sort of fitness..Since then I havd gradually upped the meterage to average 350,000 a month.Last years daily average was about12,500metresHoping to average over 13,500 this year. This year I also rowed my 320half marathon in alitime best of87 mins. Most of my rowing is done at home on a very old but renovated B model which my favourite rower. I also row at Lifestyle gym in Cockermouth where three of us including the proprietor have a total of nearly 73,000 000 metres.we have a combined age of over 212 years.

Thats two years in a row I've not made 1m, finding it hard to get into it seriously again after a few back problems and finding time during the week after work. Going to aim for at least 100k a month and try to get back on it for 2012/13. 1m here I come again

Doing more cycling at the moment (circ 20 miles a day to and from work) so rowing is suffering a bit - but will still be rowing at least 3 times a week!!

Proud to say that I am now at least as fit as I have ever been, largely due to the Concept 2. Forced to give up running by history of injuries but no problems so far with the rowing. Determined not to go backwards before I hit 60. Currently averaging over 100K per month (and enjoying it!)

Retired category 1 cyclist. Got the ERG to help keep cardiovascular system in shape. Have had lower back troubles for many years riding bicycles, surprisingly the ERG doesn’t bother that condition. Got the ERG in September of 2009, had hip surgery in February of 2010. Just got back on the machine in August of 2010. In the future I hope to get on the water with a local club that might have room for me on one of there boats. All advise and comments welcomed for this new comer. Thanks, Jim
Started my GF on intense intervals every other day. Clothes she bought hoping to fit into one day are now being worn.
