For roughly the first 15 minutes I focused on posture at the finish — concentrating on that part of the back where the tailbone ends. I mostly rowed short, made sure my iliac crest was tilted posteriorly, and that my lower abs were scucked in. And I focused on maintaining the posture all the way through the recovery to the catch.
For the next 15 minutes I focused on rowing 10 meters-per-stroke and producing a smooth, ideal force curve.
