I started with the usual goal of rowing 10-meters-per-stroke but quickly tired of losing rhythm every time I had to make a correction. In spite of the irritatingly unrhythmical nature of the first 2k I somehow managed to complete the interval in 201 strokes.

For the next three intervals I pursued a different strategy. While I still tried to row at a rate of 10-meters-per-stroke, in these intervals I did not break rhythm to make a correction. The end result was that I averaged about 9.9-meters-per-stroke. But the rowing, itself, was much more rhythmical and felt more satisfying.
