Since the 24th of January I have been experimenting with Harry Mahon’s idea of just hanging without pulling.
I concede that hanging without pulling to start of the drive off the stretcher has helped me increase force faster at the catch. So it would seem that my experimenting with it has trained me to use my legs more effectively.
But — and this, for me, is a big BUT — hanging without pulling also seems to be destroying my right shoulder. This is the shoulder that John Belzer replaced three years ago.
So this workout, about two-thirds of the way through when for the third time I felt a sharp burning sensation in my right shoulder, I returned to simultaneously delivering effort to the handle and to the foot stretcher.
