The smartphone cradle turns out not to have been such a good idea. Trying to insert the phone into the cradle is nearly impossible without simultaneously pressing the volume rocker and power buttons. This means that the phone tends to reboot into some form of boot mode.
Also it is nearly impossible to remove alarms & notifications once they appear on the screen. One notification this afternoon was particularly annoying. It was an alarm warning me that it was dangerously hot and advising that I should drink lots of water. As if I needed to hear that!
Also couldn't see the screen readouts from Ergdata. Arrrrrgh! Ended up laying the phone on the stern end of the DIR (Dynamic Indoor Rower) up against the rails. I should have thought of this simple, elegant solution before ordering the smartphone cradle. Sometimes I wonder where my mind is.
Also the battery is over 90% at the start of a work out and an hour later is below 40%. I think this is because when the Nexus 6P is inserted into the smartphone cradle its volume rocker is continually held down and this causes ergdata to become an enormous drain on the Nexus 6P’s battery.
