Again focused on increasing force faster at the start of the drive but only enough to compensate for the amount of deceleration in the previous stroke.
Not only did I have less difficulty this afternoon than I had yesterday, but today and the previous two days are among the best workouts I have ever had. For three days in a row I have rowed 6000m in 600 strokes at an average rate of 19 spm. And that’s with focusing solely on getting 10 meters-per-stroke! The 19 spm wasn’t a target. I didn’t aim for it. It just happened. This afternoon I had rhythm, technique felt good, force curves frequently were the shape I wanted — in other words, I felt that I was more in control of my rowing than I have ever been. A wonderful feeling!
