Five days since I stopped rowing because of pain in my right shoulder. This morning I was feeling better and did not want to be in Cesar and Blanca’s way, so I thought I would experiment and see what would happen if I tried some light rowing. The plan was that at the slightest suggestion of pain I would stop rowing. This never happened. Not once did I feel pain.
I was cautious, pulled carefully and deliberately at a low stroke rate, and never broke into a sweat. I took great care to produce force curves that show peak force early and sustained through the entire drive. I took at least a 2 minute break every 30 minutes. I found rhythm by rowing to two voices. I would come to a complete stop at the end of the recovery, then quietly call out to Catch, then wait to feel my heels lift ever so slightly off the stretcher, and only then quietly call out Drive. By the time the workout was over I felt extraordinarily relaxed.
