Probably 12 million of the 13 million meters in my Logbook have been rowed at 18-22 spm. Currently I am producing force curves that consistently show peak force early and carried through the drive. The goal of rowing at 18-22 spm is to learn to do just this. So have I reached a level of movement competence where I should move on to the next level? To answer this I have begun experimenting with rowing at a variety of rates, always with the stipulation that force curves show peak force early and carried through the drive. If they fail to satisfy this condition, I can simply lower the rating until I regain movement competence. Also I will stop rowing at the slightest suggestion of pain.
