I'm a nordic skier who learned to row at Dartmouth during my sophomore summer (with Hanover Crew). I rowed with the Dartmouth Novice Women during my Junior Year but didn't stick with crew beyond my senior fall due to writing poetry and throwing parties. While at Oxford 1995-1997, I really got into the sport-- rowed for my college and then trialled for OUWBC, the women's Blue Boat (as a heavyweight, foolishly). Rowed 4-seat in Osiris, an amazing experience, though we to lost to Cambridge by a canvas. Came back stateside and coached Novice women's crew at Williams College (my novice boat won the D3 New England championships for the first time in Williams history) while also training as a lightweight. Moved to Cambridge and learned to scull at Riverside Boat Club elite summer training camp in 1998, where my LW 4x and 2x won four gold medals at Canadian Henley and US Nationals. But the intensity of lightweight racing was not for me. I retired and moved to Craftsbury Outdoor Center to coach and nordic ski. Fell in love with a beautiful sculler there and married him. More than two decades later, I'm a 51-year-old mother of two, rowing in the single again and trying to get back into racing shape.
