This was a follow-up experiment after this morning's 11.5K rowing session. Rowing faster than a certain effort level allows HR to slow down because it is getting assistance from other muscles. But if the effort level is reduced below a certain level to where the other muscles aren't providing enough assistance pumping blood, then heart rate acts what would seem to be illogically and speeds up with a reduction in rowing speed.
