Rowed for many years (from age 32 to 61), though most seriously from about 50 to 61. At 60, I set my fastest 10K at 44:52. I know, nothing impressive, but I'm a pretty small framed person - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
And then at 61 we moved and I took almost 4 years off from exercise. Bad me, what can I say. No real reason either, just never got on the rower or back to the gym.
So now I'm 3 10Ks back into it (July 4, 7 & 10) and hope to keep the 3-day interval thing going.
Other hobbies?
Porsches and racing
Audiogeek totally, both analog & digital
12/18/2020: Heart attack - bummer, was 80K into the 100K challenge!
1/6/2021: triple bypass - so taking me a while to even get back on a rower. Sadly, given let veins used in the bypass don't dilate like the original arteries to maintain blood pressure (simple thermodynamics - increase pump rate/pressure, then reduce pressure by making bigger pipes), this now means having to row at GREATLy reduced HR. Bummer :-(
And yes - since exiting hospital, I've put on weight. Double bummer. Trying to do a simple 5K every day now to help / and it is!
