Grew up in San Francisco; went to UC-Berkeley, sailed on the Bay, but never rowed until 1971 when I lived in Boston, and was a member of the Charles River Boat Club. Joined Lincoln Park Boat Club in 1979 when I moved to Chicago, and was a member of the 'Mixed 8' crew during competitions on our Lagoon. Bought the Concept 2 in 2006 and hold the 2k record (70-74) for the annual Chicago Indoor Rowing competition.
