As mentioned it is also in the mind. Wanted to do at least a much faster 40K. Took my HR table when I set my PB 4 months ago with 1:20:40,9. Drag 100. Trying to stay 1K splits under 2:00 as long as possible. Halfway changed the target and main aim to 30K for the hour. New 70+PB with 30.032m. After that took gas back, however, felt that Sub 1:22:00 or even Sub 1:21:00 was doable. Suddenly PB was in sight and counting on my normally strong last 1K ( 1:54,0) managed to beat my PB by 8,2 sec. So 2 in one.
