I’ve got a love-hate relationship with the Concept2. It’s a brutally honest coach that remembers every split, watt, and effort you’ve ever put in. The monitor doesn't lie. Nothing humbles you like coming back from a layoff and watching your 500m drift and your cardiorespiratory endurance reminding you exactly how long you've been away.

After four years of fits and starts, I finally crossed one million meters. It took longer than expected, but it feels less like checking a box and proving I can stick with it. On to the next million, hopefully with more consistency as I work to stay strong, healthy, and present for my wife and kids for years to come.
