Okay so cincinatti was decently good. w1v8+ and w1v4+ B. Had we not seat raced this past week, I was gonna challenge for one to get into the A 4+. We seat raced (had a pre-seat race panic attack in front of our new coach) then proceeded to win all 7 of my races. Yay! I'm in an honest 1v8+ this weekend and the 1v4+ and I'm so fucking excited. I also got invited to the YDC pairs camp.
May 8th, 2024:
Dogwood was pretty good. We finished 5th in the time trial for the 4+ which is pretty damn good. The 4+ is better than the 8+. Indy Sprints was also really good. I medaled in all 3 events. Bronze in the 1x (missed silver by 2.2 seconds, RIP) silver in the 4+ (westerville's lineup was different than Dogwood, so I blame losing to them on that, also they didn't even try in their heat race). Gold in the 8+. It was a close race, we were last off the stakeboats because of a bad point, but we recovered and walked through 6 other boats to win by 4 seconds.

So I got invited to selection development camp but we decided I wouldn't go. I think that's a good idea. I'd be with a lot of older people and I don't know if I could commit to a month of rowing twice a day yet. We had a very aggressive week of practices last week including 2x2k, (10,8,6,4,2) all at race pace, etc. Crazy. Midwests this weekend! Get hype!
September 3rd, 2024:
My prior entry was actually written just hours before I was removed from the 1v4 because of my concussion thing, after I was told it would not impact my seat, and then our coach quit the next morning after promising me a seat race.
September 18, 2024:
So like, not in the Charles 4+ which is rough, but I'm in the 1v4x so like, that'll be cool.
September 23, 2024:
Dude Cuyahoga was goated! We passed 3 boats in the 8+ and ended up winning, and in the 4x we passed 6 boats (including 2 boats into the next race) and ended up in 2nd. Unfortunatley, my watch flew off my wrist about 3 strokes into the race and went into the water (RIP). It was a great weekend. BTW Hoover did get cancelled for drought conditions, so we may go to Head of the Rock now. We'll see.
October 16th, 2024:
Head of the Rock was one of the worst run regattas I've ever been to. Oh my good God it was bad. They literally had to come and ask what color my single was (IKR). I raced the single, the quad, and the eight. I got 5th of 19 in the single in my first single head race ever! In the quad we got 5th and the u17's got third so that was a lil embarrassing. The 8+ was damn good considering the wind, and we ended up in 3rd to New Trier and St Louis!!! I will be happy to never go back there again. It sucked. But, Haxton and Hooch will be fun.
October 29th, 2024:
I told someone last week that Haxton sucks. This past weekend made me want to retract that statement. It was goated. We got 3rd in the 2v4x after a hella fun race where we were all yelling at each other, and 3rd in the 8+ (which I thought we did terribly originally). HOOCH WEEK!!!! I'm actually so so so excited.
