I'm new to rowing but spent a couple of seasons as an OC-6 paddler in Honolulu, Hawaii. I paddled sprint races of 0.25 to 0.5 miles, 3 - 6 mile races, and long distance races of 13 to 42 miles. My team and I paddled the Na Wahine O Ke Kai across the Ka'iwi Channel in 7 hours. Loved it! Land locked now and hope to scratch the paddling itch with my RowErg at home.
