Rowed in the early 90's
My metric was 10,000 meters in 40 minutes. Of course this metric is no longer be goal though I am edging up to 14,000 meters in 60 minutes. Best time so far is 13,721.in 60.

Hated the magnetic rowers at our Y so I bought a new Concept 2 for home use along with a complete set of Clench Fitness resistance bands, handles, wall anchors, bar, footplate. These products are the best I've ever used in over 40 years of use.
