I live in Zimbabwe where I have lived for most of my life. At the age of 32 I took up running and I ran many marathons including the Comrades Marathon. Through all the running I messed up my knees so I took up cycling. I had 2 very bad accidents. One accident I was doing about 50 km an hour when I went into the side of the car which did not see me. I hit the car and do not remember anything. When I was conscious I noticed that there was an awful lot of blood around me but obviously did not know what damage I had done to my body. Anyway I was extensively stitched around my left eye and all around my head. My family decided that cycling in Zimbabwe was too dangerous so I started Gym. I used to do cycling at the gym as well as using a walker. I found the Walker did the most for me. Then I noticed the static rowing machine. I found this machine very tiring and I noticed that most people did not use the rowing machine. A friend (female) who was a trainer did 2500 m which is the talk time I thought was very good.. I then purchased a concept2 rower and started rowing. I set my goals to doing 10 km per day at a speed that I started my running. That was 1 km every 5.5 minutes
