I have been a lifelong runner and came to rowing, as way to recover from injuries and refresh my body during my offseason. Rowing on an Erg helps me to keep fit, maintain my VO2 Max and cross train to develop and maintain my core strength. I concentrate on rowing during the winter months from November to April, after which I transition back to running. During the running season, I do short distance Endurance Pace rows to recover.

As you can see by my physical measurements, I am not only a Lightweight rower, but one that is well below the class limits. This off course makes it all the more challenging for me to move up in the rankings, where the record holders tend to be taller than me and right at the weigh limit. Though it helps to both motivate me and gives me all the more pride in want I am able to accomplish on a weight adjusted basis. So for anyone else in my predicament, take heart and go for your best.

Aside from training and fitness, I find the motion and rhythm of rowing to be relaxing. Having a rower on slides makes it more so.

Besides running and rowing, I am also an ocean sailor. I was a participated in the 2017-18 Clipper Around the World Race. www.clipperroundtheworld.com/ I am now planing and training to participate in more races in the next couple of years.
